NEXUS

I’m not sure how to describe it. I’ll just call it a curation or compilation of ham radio tools in one platform. Here’s how the developer describes it:

One program instead of six.

Most stations run a decoder, a logger, a mapper, an alerter and a panadapter app, each with its own settings and its own copy of your log, all fighting over one COM port. Nexus does that work in one place, with one log, across one or multiple radios.

It is free, and it stays free. No trial, no tier, no account, no subscription, nothing kept back for a paid version — and that is not a promise you have to take on trust. Nexus is GPL-3.0, so the licence itself is what guarantees it. Built in Rust by KD9TAW.

So far, I’ve been impressed. I’ve only experimented with the FT8 mode, but so far I like it much better than WSJT-X. Here is a screenshot of the main interface from my activity this morning.

I would encourage anyone that uses multiple applications/modes to give it a shot.
